香港TVB網上新聞: 樹仁大學校長鍾期榮病逝，終年94歲。行政長官梁振英發表聲明，讚揚鍾期榮是一位偉大的教育家，與丈夫胡鴻烈一手創立樹仁大學。他和政府就鍾期榮的逝世表示沉痛哀悼，並向其家人致以最深切的慰問。 樹仁大學新聞系網站公布校長鍾期榮病逝的消息，版面亦轉為素色。她星期六晚感到不適，送到律敦治醫院，延至星期日凌晨五時許病逝。 生於湖南長沙的鍾期榮，是中國首位女法官。1956年定居香港，曾經在浸會學院執教，有見本地大專學位不足，1971年與丈夫胡鴻烈把名下在跑馬地的洋房變成校舍，一起創辦香港樹仁學院，並擔任校長，丈夫出任校監。 鍾期榮2000年獲頒金紫荊星章，表揚她對教育工作的貢獻。2001年，鍾期榮與丈夫在學校飯堂吃飯時突然中風，需要以輪椅代步，但仍事事親力親為，並搬到學校宿舍，方便處理校政。在2007年，終於爭取到樹仁升格為大學。 校方星期一會開會，討論鍾期榮的身後事安排。
