No, Team Shue Yan did not win any trophy in the past Hong Kong Joint Universities Alumni (Ontario) table tennis tournament on July 07, 2013. Yes, we were awarded.
The award came from the par-ticipation and the recognition. Team Shue Yan went to the
stage and sang the canto-pop song Light of Friendship to wind up the award dinner. This im-promptu performance won the standing ovation.
Captain Kenneth Li and his team members, namely, Evan Chau, Sylvia Choi, Patrick Law,
Phianix Lee, Karmen Tsui and An-thony Wai had played good games against other teams.
The Champion goes to Hong Kong University Alumni this year.

As one of the founding members of the Hong Kong Joint Universities Alumni (Ontario) (“JU” 安省香港專上校友會聯會), HKSYUCAA is joining the two games in 2013 organized by JU.  Please book both days in your diary and join our teams.  The events are:

1. Table Tennis Game scheduled for Sunday, July 7, 2013

2.  Badminton Game scheduled for Sunday, September 29, 2013

 WE NEED PLAYERS for the games.

Please register with Captain Kenneth Li (李立本) at 416-617-5331. You will be rewarded with friendship, exercise and fun, and hopefully medals.  Registration fee and uniform for players will be covered by HKSYUCAA.

You can also participate as Volunteer and Umpire or just show up to cheer for the players. Please call Dawin Kong (江志成) at 416-899-7185 for details.

At the first Board meeting held on Feb 4. 2013, it was resolved that we would invite the former lecturers to become the advisors of HKSYUCAA.  We would like to thank Mr. Ting-Kwong Cheung (張鼎光老師), Mr. Chee Wong (黃志涵老師) and Ms. Winnie Wong (黃嚴煥卿老師) who have accepted our invitation as our advisors.  Trust that their rich life experience, academic achievements in their respective profession as well as their incessant support to HKSYUCAA will increase our profile and capability in connecting with other alumni currently living in Canada.  Thank you for our Advisors.

New Board of Directors has been elected during the AGM meeting.

Congratulation to our new President Dawin! Two new faces joined our board. Welcome aboard, Tony and John! We also thanks Jeremy Cheung張鼎昌 and Connie Fong 方余淑華 for your efforts and contributions to the committe in the past two years.

Friendly conversations, funny games, lucky draw and yummy food all filled up the night with friendship and laughters!
