Food, Wine, Christmas Songs, Friendship…another memorable Christmas party!!!

Thanks all the alumni who have joined our second Christmas Party on Sunday Dec 07 2014. We shared lots of yummy food, wine, Christmas songs and happiness moment together. What a cheerful and joyful gathering before the Christmas holidays. Congratulation to Lai Wan Wong again, whose yummy Meringue dessert has been voted to the most favorable dish of the day. This is the second year in a row for her.

Flyer-Christmas Pot Luck

What a wondeful evening! Over 200 people from 7 alumnus attended the 2014 Hong Kong Joint University Alumni Talent Night Banquent on October 18, 2014. Shue Yan Alumni performed the show of “八段咁都得” which combined ” 八段錦” with humorous political voice over. Thank you all for the rehearsal and the creative script writing. Congratulations to HK Poly University Alumni for the winning of the HK Cup this year by the performance of a HK Oldies musical. Shue Yan Alumni has received the JU flag and became the rotation chair of JU event for the year of 2015.

Water-mouthing BBQ meat, nice weather, non-stop chatting and long lasting friendship…what a great reunion! We had another wonderful annual Summer BBQ. Thank you for our special guests Mars Kwong and her husband from Hong Kong Alumni and new member–Internet privacy and security expert, Professor Roy Ng from Ryerson University. Members also enjoyed practicing the 八段錦 together.  Special thanks to the hospitality of our vice president David Lee who opens his own backyard for the event.

Thanks for the support of our alumni, the executive board had collected a total of $1,312.00 in memory of Dr. Chung Chi-Yong. We had ordered a wreath for the funeral and placed condolence advertisements on Toronto and Vancouver Ming Pao. The total expenditure was $454.91. That left $857.09 surplus. The board had decided to top up the amount to $1000.00 and would donate to the scholarship fund of our alma mater.

Thank you for the supports! The 2014 AGM and annual dinner was a great success. Around 40 people attended the AGM as well as the 20th Anniversary of the Alumni on Feb 23rd 2014.

The 2012 AGM minutes and 2013 Financial Report have been passed and accepted by the members.

President Dawin presented the highlight of alumni events in 2013 during the meeting.

Friendly conversations, video slides show, songs, funny games, lucky draw and yummy food all filled up the night with friendship and lots of memories!

**Since Dr Chung Chi-yung, chancellor of Shue Yan University has passed away on March 2, 2014, broad members decided to postpone posting this massage and pictures on the web as a respect.

各位校友﹐

鍾期榮校長之喪禮及追思會已於日前舉行。鍾期榮校長之遺體已長眠於柴灣華人永遠墳場。

謹此多謝校友送來不少弔唁. 弔唁除轉送香港樹仁大學外,並轉刊於校友會之 Facebook。又感謝校友支持校友會安排鍾校長喪禮之支出。 我們收到校友寄來支票及直接存款共約一千元。由於財政核算需時，當完成核算後, 將向校友報告。現附上有關鍾期榮校長之喪禮及追思會剪報及本會刊登之訃聞供各校友存閱。再次多謝校友之支持。
